"The virtual facade" - on screens and masks, Conference of graduate students in art history, design and visual culture. May 2022.

This lecture sought to examine virtual face filters developed in augmented reality technology ("filters") and media-integrated architectural facades, as producing new infrastructures for performative experiences in the urban and graphic space. We discussed the concept of "virtual facade" - a virtual layer that allows human faces and building facades to become fluid infrastructures that respond in real time. The screens and masks of the "virtual vision" allow the human face and the "face of the building" to take on graphic characteristics, which change their "skin" and momentarily transform them into others - feminine becomes masculine, opaque becomes transparent, internal becomes external. This conference was held in collaboration with the Hebrew University, Shankar engineering.design.art and Bezalel  Academy of Art and Design.
