"Factory City" is a site-dependent performative-community installation, created thanks to all its partners under the initiative and leadership of the multidisciplinary artist Itamar Shimshoni. The factory, which was erected in the new Teddy Gallery during the month of August, functions in its first week as an active factory that produces figurines from games, broken tools and various Materials. The workers who operate the production, packaging, and archive lines are residents of the neighborhoods adjacent to the gallery - Katmonim, Beit Tzafa, and Gonenim - who received prior artistic training from the artist - at the Ginogli Center for Visual Art. In addition to the production lines, the factory also includes a warehouse for tools and materials; a rest room For the workers and an exhibition room On the central wall of the factory, in the tailor's hall, during the first week, a mural by the artist Shimshoni is taking shape. ​ "Factory City" is also a site-dependent installation centered on an abandoned factory, without the operating team, management and workers. Within this "setting" are placed the products, the sculptures and the figurines, which were created within the framework of three central motifs conceived by Samshoni: Teddy line - figurines made of available materials found in the vicinity of the Teddy Stadium; Jerusalem Line - ready-made figurines, like souvenirs for tourists, charged with the spiritual aspects of the city; And for the Archeology line - cement and earth figurines in a ready-made combination that refer to the city bustling beneath the surface. The figurines are displayed in the packing room next to the exit and in the showroom upstairs. The central wall in the factory's sewing hall displays the work created during the production week at the factory - a kind of artist wall, an inspiration wall, a glimpse behind the scenes of the project, describing the themes, thoughts, planning and realization of "Factory City" in the new Teddy Gallery.
