"Factory City", performance exhibition, Itamar Shimshoni, July 2021, Ribak House, Bat Yam Museum.

The "Factory City" project by artist Itamar Shimshoni, is an enterprise whose purpose is to give discarded toys and objects renewed value by turning them into works of art. As part of "Factory City", objects and toys that are no longer needed were collected from around the city of Bat Yam, and through artistic actions they are now being transformed into sculptures and new works of art. The objects arrive at the factory, go through a process of sorting and cataloging and are put to use by the skilled team of the factory's employees, which consists of a team of designers, high school students and retirees from Bat Yam who will be engaged in operations such as welding, painting, carpentry, sewing and more. "Factory City" operates for 10 days for 8 working hours a day, and is open to visitors through guided tours. As part of the factory's activities, ready-made workshops and various artistic activities are held. As part of the factory's activity, the new works of art will be displayed and offered for sale at affordable prices.
